Help Obama end our long nuclear nightmare

Hey Joe: don't be a warheadPresident Obama is making great progress on his promise to rid the world of nuclear weapons. He's just negotiated a powerful new agreement with world leaders and a new treaty with Russia to reduce nuclear stockpiles by 30 percent. It was a huge step forward in working to make our world safer and more secure.

But a group of Senate conservatives, led by Connecticut's Joe Lieberman, are stuck in a Cold War mentality and lining up to stall the first progress in decades. They believe that a world ruled by fear and uncertainty is better than a world bound by trust, peace and prosperity.

Sign below to show your support, and we'll make Joe Lieberman and the rest of the Senate get the message.

We, the undersigned, believe that to protect our children, our grandchildren and our civilization from the threat of nuclear catastrophe, we must eliminate all nuclear weapons globally. We therefore commit to working for a legally binding verifiable agreement, including all nations, to eliminate nuclear weapons by a date certain.

Senator Lieberman, we Americans cannot afford your indecision and foot-dragging. Not now. This is not the time to play politics and get lost in the weeds. This issue affects millions of people across the world everyday and its up to people like you to decide whether our children will live in fear or live in peace. President Obama's treaty is supported by hundreds of world leaders and is only needing the Senate's support before being made official.

Senator Lieberman, don't be a roadblock to our safety and security. Better still, don't be a warhead."
