President Obama is about to ask Congress for $33 billion to send more troops to Afghanistan, and yet another $11.6 billion for training the Afghan army. But he barely mentioned the war or its cost in his State of the Union speech Wednesday.
Ultimately it's up to Congress to decide if we spend our money on things like job training and food assistance, or on sending more soldiers into a war that terrorism experts say can't be won by brute military force.
